COVID-19 Visitation update

7.14.2020

Dear Echoing Hills Stakeholders,

At Echoing Hills, the well-being and safety of the individuals we serve and our staff is our number one priority. While there is still much uncertainty about COVID-19, we understand that it is most easily spread from person-to-person via respiratory droplets among close contacts.
With the influx in cases across the state, we continue taking extraordinary precautions and following all applicable guidance to protect, as much as possible, the individuals we serve and our staff from the COVID-19 virus. These precautions include, but are not limited to, limiting the interactions between the individuals we serve who are most at risk should they contract COVID-19; regularly monitoring our individuals and staff for signs of infection; utilizing the early screening process for all staff for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure risks; requiring staff to use personal protective equipment (PPE); conducting additional and thorough cleaning and sanitizing of our location(s) each day, and allowing outdoor visitations only.
With the recent introduction of the Ohio Public Health Advisory System – a color-coded system designed to assess the degree of the virus’ spread – we are utilizing the color scale to allow us to make informed decisions. As an organization, we have deemed it more than appropriate that if any county is orange (Level 2) we will be taking greater precautions with limitations on visitation requirements. If a county is red (Level 3) or purple (Level 4), we will cease visitation to Echoing Hills’ ICFs immediately to ensure the safety and well-being of those we serve and our team. As the map changes frequently, I would recommend visiting https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/public-health-advisory-system/ to determine the level of the county you wish to visit.
I understand this is disheartening to many, but please remember we have offered and continue to offer a variety of means for communication with your loved one!
Thank you for your commitment and support in joining us in creating and ensuring a safe environment for everyone!

Sincerely,
Tim Neville
